Is It Right For Me?

Is Internet Marketing Right For Me?

Internet Marketing is right for almost any offline business, but I usually recommend different courses of action for different types of businesses. The main purpose of a local business working on internet marketing should be attracting new clients/customers, strengthening and leveraging current customers, and building a brand. Unfortunately, most local business websites do nothing but tell me the hours that they’re open and where they’re located. There’s nothing convincing me to use their products or services and no way for them to get my contact information. Big mistake.

So really, any business can start doing that, but for some businesses it will be a larger operation then others. While a car wash can certainly attract new clients online (especially those new to the area or visiting), a real estate agent may have more to gain in the way of profits. I would never want to charge any client for work that they don’t need, so I often recommend smaller plans of action to the car wash.

Well, what would you recommend to ME?

First off, consider the value of a new and returning client to you. The higher you value a client, the more value I can provide for you. The other consideration is that of search volume- how many people are searching for your field of business online? I can’t create internet users appear out of thin air, but those that are already there can be redirected to you.

For a High Customer Value Business, I usually recommend work on a regular basis where I will manage your entire internet marketing campaign. It encompasses all the services I offer and within a few months, your business will dominate all others in your field. You will be the authority online.

For a Low Customer Value Business, I would recommend Site Creation and/or Site Cleanup, so that you have a functioning website, but not much else in the way of promotion. A month or two of Search Engine Optimization work may be recommended, and social media can be employed to retain current customers and build stronger relationships with them. Pay Per Click Advertising is not recommended for low customer value businesses.

For a High Search Engine Traffic Business, I recommend you employ most or all of my services. Site Cleanup and Optimization, Article Marketing, Video Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, and Directory Submission are top priorities. For an extra boost, we can work on Pay Per Click Advertising and landing page creation.

For a Low Search Engine Traffic Business, it is usually best to make sure that your site is at least findable, so Site Cleanup and Optimization is a good idea at the very least, and at the most a month of Search Engine Optimization work. The biggest campaign for low search traffic businesses should be Social Media, because it allows the business to connect with people without search traffic. I’ve seen dollar stores with a low customer value and a low search engine traffic create valuable internet campaigns centered around Social Media.

The bottom line is that while internet marketing can be a helpful tool for all businesses, it needs to be tailored to your business and your style. Too many internet marketing firms are rigid, uncompromising, and charge for unnecessary work. Give me a call or send me an email and we can set up a time to talk about your business, your current marketing campaign, and what would work for you on the internet.
